How Much Does a Portrait Painting Cost

What is the price of a custom portrait painting?

I am often asked “How much does a portrait painting cost?”
It depends. Canvas size, the number of figures in a portrait and the background will contribute to its cost. As a starting point, a head and shoulders painting with plain background, in oil on canvas measuring 35x45cm will cost £500. A full figure painting with background will cost from £1,400
